Lighting Workshops
by Tomas
This workshop represents the first ‘episode’ in a series of three:
Episode I: An Introduction To Flash.
Whether you’ve only just picked up a camera for the first time or already have prior experience and wish to practice flash photography – everyone is welcome to take part.
This workshop will provide a hands on introduction to using an off camera hotshoe flash to light a portrait on location.
As the understanding and application of the techniques are the priority of this workshop and in order to keep costs to a minimum, we will use each other as our subjects/models rather than increasing the enrolment fee by hiring the services of professional models.
Prior knowledge with basic camera functions or how exposure is effected by shutter speeds, apertures and ISO/ASA sensitivities are going to be very beneficial to you so if you happen to be very new to the mechanics of a camera then I’d recommend brushing up on these areas before enrolling.
Basic explanations will also be given during the workshop but it must be understood that the focus of the workshop is primarily the application of a single hotshoe flash, triggering and the basic applications/techniques in portraiture.
Price & Duration
Enrolment is 75€ per person and the duration is three hours. Private classes with identical content are available for 125€.
Each attendee will be required to bring an SLR camera and suitable portraiture lens.
Flash equipment and triggering systems are available during the workshop although if you have your own, you are more than welcome to bring that too.
Tripods are not necessary but your more than welcome to bring one if you are more comfortable using one.
The workshops are held in English.
